GATIDHARA

Introduction

GATIDHARA is a scheme introduced to inspire youth of West Bengal to explore the potentialities in transport sector by owning or operating small /medium vehicles. The objective of the scheme is to generate Self Employment in the Urban and Rural areas of the State by providing financial assistance to the enrolled job-seekers of Employment Bank. The project cost should not exceed Rs 10 lakh and the government subsidy will be not more than Rs 1 lakh.

Eligibility:

• He has completed 20th year but not 45th year of age as on 1st day of April of the year in which he has applied to come under the scheme.
  [The upper age limit is relaxable by five years in case of SC, ST and 3 years for OBC persons].

• The family income of the individual entrepreneur should not exceed Rs 25,000/- per month.

• Entrepreneurs who might have availed loan under USKP, BSKP or any other scheme also are eligible of the scheme provided that they have fully repaid their loans their loans or there is no demand for repayment pending against them.

• He shall have to either possess a valid commercial Driving License or the one who would work/drive on behalf of the applicant must have a valid commercial driving license.

• The candidate who has received unemployment assistance in YUVASREE is also eligible for the scheme.
